Recommended Carrier For Two Electric Bikes That Weigh 56lbs
Question:
We have two Lectric Bike XPs which weighs 63lbs with battery or 56 Lbs without. The weight capacity for the hitch is 50 Lbs per bike is this the true maximum or can it accommodate these two bikes? If not, which hitch would you recommend? Thanks

The Yakima HoldUp EVO Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # Y02479 does indeed have a weight capacity of 50lbs per bike. Even with your batteries removed, you will still be over the weight limit and it is never recommended to exceed the weight capacity of your bike rack, hitch receiver, or vehicle.
If you want to stick with a wheel-mount carrier like the Yakima HoldUp EVo, then I recommend looking into the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches # RKY10004. This is a wheel-mount carrier and it has a weight capacity of 60lbs per bike which would work well for your bikes when the battery is removed. Locks are included to deter theft of your bikes and bike rack. I attached a demonstration video for you to check out.
