Advice for Removing Bumper on a 2005 BMW X5 to Install Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 75492
Question:
I REMOVED THE TORX-55 BOLTS ABOVE THE EXHAUST PIPES. I REMOVED THE TWO 55MM SCREWS AT TEH REAR OF EACH WHEEL WELL. THE BUMPER IS ON TIGHT. DO I NEED TO PRY IT OFF?

It will take some pulling to get the bumper fascia off once you have removed the six fasteners. Try wiggling it a bit as you pull backward on it, as there are likely some internal plastic clips that you cannot see holding it in place. You should feel or hear them pop out as you pull the bumper back.
I am including links to videos of the# 75492 Draw-Tite hitch being installed on 2006 and 2003 models, which will be the same as your 2005 BMW X5. They give you a couple angles of the bumper removal. I would recommend that you get someone to help you with this part of the installation. It looks like the length of the piece and its weight will make it awkward to handle alone.
