Can You Back Up and Make Tight Turns With Strait-Line Weight Distribution Hitch RP66087 Installed?
Question:
Does this system allow for backing up and tight turns without disconnecting? Also are these systems any smoother than traditional bar and bracket systems or will there be the same amount of bounce transferred between trailer and tow vehicle?

Expert Reply:
With the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System w Sway Control - Round Bar - 10,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW # RP66087 you were looking at installed you will absolutely be able to back up and make sharp turns without disconnecting the system.
The Strait-Line hitches will ride a bit smoother due to the spring bars moving back and forth on the cams, compared to a more traditional weight distribution hitch with friction sway control.
This hitch does not include a hitch ball so you will need 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286 to match the coupler on your trailer.
I included a video of the # RP66087 for you to take a look at.
