Recommended Hitch For A 2019 Ram 3500 With OEM Prep Package

Question:

I will be buying a columbus 5th wheel soon. I have a 2019 ram mega cab with short bed. Will the BandW companion work on my truck. I worry about the short bed and with this hitch the trailer hitting my truck when I go to back it up. My dealer said no problem but wanted a second opinion. I had thought about a pull right slider but if this will work I will go with it.

The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 25,000lbs Item # BWRVK3600 will work with your 2019 Ram 3500 short bed but will have a very hard time with close turns and you will run the risk of hitting the cab. I always recommend a slider hitch or rotating pin box to help give you extra turning clearance on a short bed.

If you would like to use a slider I recommend the Curt Q25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider - Dual Jaw - 24,000lbs # C16566 and the Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider - Ram Towing Prep Package # C16022.
This system will use your pucks so you won't have to drill into the bed.

If you want a rotating pin box I need to know the model/serial number of your current pin box to find you the correct replacement as these are very specific fits.
