Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit for at Rear of Motorhome with 7-Way
Question:
You have recommended the RM 154 four wire kit for my new 2021 Ford Ranger. I plan to tow it four down behind my motorhome. I currently have the Blue Ox tow bar and the 7 wire cord was on my old ford focus. Can I not put a 7 wire on the Ranger and use the same cord? I am using a Patriot brake which runs off a 12 volt. What breakaway switch do I need for the Patriot? The old one went with the Focus. Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since you have a 7-way at the rear of your motorhome a better option for tow bar wiring would be the Roadmaster diode kit part # RM-15247 which comes with a coiled cable that has a 7-way on one end and a matching connector and socket for the side that installs on the towed vehicle.
Then for a breakaway switch replacement the part # BRK2505 would be all you need for the Patriot.
