How Can I Tow A Trailer With 7-Blade Wiring With My 2013 Mercedes Sprinter That Has a 4-Flat?
Question:
I have a 2013 Mercedes Sprinter Van with a 4 pole flat connector #118650. I need to tow a friends trailer that has a 7 blade round connector on it. Is there something I can attached to the 4 pole flat so that I can tow their trailer ?

The Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole # 37185 will plug into the 4-way flat on your 2013 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This will allow you to plug in the 7-blade trailer connector on your friends trailer. The adapter will have the pigtail wires for the brake controller, 12 volt charge line, and reverse light circuit that the 7-way adds.
You will need to check with the local laws regarding trailer towing to see if you will have to have the brake controller or reverse lights.
I recommend the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 to install a fully functional 7-way on your Sprinter. This will allow you to install a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 so that you will be able to tow using the trailer brakes and not put the extra weight on your brakes risking excessive wear or damage. I have a video linked below that will walk you through the process of installing these on your Sprinter.
