Does the Convert-A-Ball Provide Cushion When Mounted at the Lowest Height?

I am not extending this adapter at all above it’s 12” heigh. Will the cushion still work?

Yes, The interior polyurethane will provide cushioning at no matter what height the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G is set. The cushioning will help to reduce the amount of road shock that transfers between the vehicle and trailer.
The same is true for the Offset Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5GX1216. This is better for your short bed trucks as it will offset the hitch 7-1/2" to increase your turning radius.
