Is There a Brake Controller Wiring Adapter for a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Will this part fir a 2001 Jeep grand Cherokee? It looks like it will match up to my Jeep wiring harness. The harness under my dash looks the same as in my brother 2000 Dodge Durango. Thanks.

I do not know of a connector under the dash on the Grand Cherokee, but if your Jeep has the factory 7-way connector there is a good possibility that the connector under your dash is the correct one and that the Dodge adapter will fit. Using a circuit tester, item # PTW2993 if you need one, you can test the connections in the harness under the dash and you should get 2 circuits (Ground and Feed to Brakes) with no reading, one circuit with 12 volt power (from battery) and one circuit that goes hot when the brake pedal is pushed.
If this is the case I would say that your vehicle is equipped with the proper harness and wiring for connecting a brake controller. If you need a wiring harness to connect to a brake controller that does not have the a connector on the controller side you can use the Tekonsha Brake Control Wiring Adapter, Dodge, item # 3020-P for your Jeep if the connector is correct. This adapter will plug into any Tekonsha or Draw-Tite brake controller. If you have a different brand, then you will want to cut off the black connector and splice the wires in. The wire functions are as follows:
Black - 12V Power
White - Ground
Blue - Brake Controller Output
Red - Cold Side of Stoplight Switch
