Recommended Easy To Use Weight Distribution Hitch
Question:
I am ready to purchase but don’t have enough experience or desire to install the system...my trailer sales place only installs systems they sell. I need an easy to operate system for me to apply alone. I’m not the strongest person so I need easy! I also have a trailer and suv combo that is already low to ground so I need ground clearance. Tongue weight 270. I’m in a loss!

Since you mentioned your tongue weight is at 270lbs I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # FA92-00-0600 which works with tongue weights between 250-600lbs, and is a very easy to use system. This hitch does not include a hitch ball so you will need 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286 to match the coupler of your trailer.
This system uses trunnion bars which will offer the most ground clearance for your low to the ground SUV and trailer.
Regarding getting the system installed and setup for the first time, if you have a friend that is mechanically inclined it really isn't bad to get installed as long as you take your time. If not you would need to find an RV dealer that does install systems not purchased through them.
Once the system is setup you can absolutely get the hitch installed alone. You will install the shank and head assembly into the trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle and lower the trailer down on the hitch ball. Latch the coupler lock and insert the pin.
Now use the jack on your trailer to raise the trailer and rear of your vehicle, this will take tension off the spring bars and make them easier to get onto the brackets.
Once you get the spring bars as close to the brackets as you can, use the tool included with the # FA92-00-0600 to push the spring bar onto the bracket, and install the keys and clips to secure each spring bar.
I went ahead and included a video of the Fastway system being setup and installed for you to take a look at.
