Malone Lowmax Trailer Crossbar Compatability

Question:

Hello, I have two hobie kayaks Mirage Compass and Passport 10.5, weights of 68 and 65 pounds and two 43 pound ebikes with batteries removed. I want to mount these 4 items on a trailer at the same time. The only bike rack mount that will work with that weight is the Thule Upride as I have short fenders on the front wheel. I am also looking to get the folding Rhino J rack for the kayaks. Since I need the crossbar spacing to be less than 43inch for the upride, the only trailer I see that will work is the Malone Lowmax as the Microsport does not have adjustable spacing of the crossbars I would get the Microsport if it did.. My question is will the Thule Upride Bike Rack and the Rhino Folding J Rack be a compatible fit for the Malone Cross Bars? Thanks so much for any assistance. I should add that I am only considering trailer with detachable tongues that can be stored upright.

Two Thule UpRide Roof Bike Rack # TH599000 will fit onto the the Malone LowMax Trailer's MAL83FR 1-1/4 thick round bars with the crossbar dimensions of 36-49 inches. As far as the Rhino-Rack 2 Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs # S512-S512X, it will attach on the LowMax Trailer's round bars as well. This setup will give you plenty of weight capacity you need in all of the components to transport your kayaks and e-bikes.

One of the things you need to consider is the width of the two kayaks and the bikes when mounting them all on the LowMax's 78-inch crossbars. I recommend measuring and adding up the measurements from pedal to pedal on the bikes as well as the width of the kayak hulls to make sure they will fit.

If you need a wiring harness or a hitch receiver for your vehicle, I would be happy to recommend them for you with your year, make, and model. I would also be happy to assist you in calculating the crossbar space on the 78-inch LowMax bars.
