Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch For 2016 Rockwood Roo 21SS
Question:
Hello, Im a little unsure which size bars id need for a 2014 Rockwood Roo 21ss. The listed specifications for the Roo are: Dry Weight: 4,316 lbs Payload Capacity: 2,281 lbs Hitch Weight: 635 lbs Ive also read that when fully loaded the tongue weight of the 21SS can approach 800lbs. Should I go with the 800lbs bars or 1000lbs for this use case? Thanks,

To find the correct weight distribution hitch for your 2014 Rockwood Roo 21SS you will need to verify the total tongue weight of your trailer.
The total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to tow trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. The easiest way to get an accurate tongue weight measurement is with a tongue weight scale like the etrailer # e99044 but there are other methods outlined in the included help article.
Since your unloaded tongue weight is 635lbs and you mentioned that when fully loaded you may see 800lbs tongue weight a system like the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW # FA92-00-1000 is likely going to be the best option for you as it works with total tongue weights between 600-1000lbs. This hitch is a really nice hitch for the money, and the built in 2-point sway control does a great job at making sure your trailer stays straight while going down the highway.
The # FA92-00-1000 does not include a hitch ball so you will need to add 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286 to match the coupler of your Roo.
I included a video of the # FA92-00-1000 for you to take a look at.
