Replacement Mounting Hardware Recommendation for a Thule Mountaineer Cargo Box
Question:
I have a Thule Mountaineer. I am not sure of the year but I am missing some of the hardware for the TH04997. If I have to buy a new mounting kit I would like to update to the Quick Release 05704 kit. Any problem with this update? I will be mounting this on my 2005 Excursion with a factory rack. Thank you

If you have a non ES Mountaineer you will need to use the Thule Quick Mount QM3 # TH04997 that you also referenced. This is available and is the correct fit for your box, so I recommend going with that mounting kit.
The EasySnap Mounting Hardware has been discontinued and was only designed to work on Thule Mountaineer ES cargo boxes so you would have no problem using it on your cargo box as long as it is a Mountaineer ES if you can find it used.
These boxes are designed to fit nearly all factory cross bars so it should work well for you.
