What are the Wiring Functions of the Pollak 7-Pole and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Sockets

I am look as to what color wires do what. It has 8 wires put the plug I bought only has 7 wires so I am just wondering what all the wires do on my truck. It is a 2000 gmc sierra 1500 5.3l

On the 7-Way and 4-Way trailer connector # HM40975-11998, the red wire is for Left turn and stop, white is ground, blue is electric brakes, green is right turn and stop, black is 12 volt battery power, brown is running lights, and yellow is for reverse lights.

You will need to use a circuit tester, like # PTW2979 if needed, to test the wires on your truck to determine their functions. The 8th wire on your truck could be a dedicated brake light that might be used to power a light on a camper shell. Testing it should confirm its function.
