Draining Atwood RV Water Heater
Question:
When not in use for 4 months, should we drain the tank or leave it full?

If during those months the temperature may drop below freezing then definitely yes. Otherwise it is still advisable but far less necessary. Personally I drain the system after each use unless I know I will be using my camper within a few weeks at most. Either way, I would flush the system before next use.
When I drain the system I also blow it out with low pressure compressed air. I use a blow-out plug such as the Camco RV Water Line Blow-Out Plug w/ Quick Connect - Brass, # CAM36143. I prefer the full brass type for durability, have had the same plug for over a decade, used countless times. Happy Camping.
