Using a Reese Goose Box With a 2021 GMC Sierra Short Bed

Question:

Will I have enough clearance using the Reese goose neck pin box on my 2021 GMC with OEM install? Both bedrails and turning radius. Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter - Lippert 1621 and 0719 - 20,000 lbs Item # RP85FR

The Reese Goose Box # RP85FR will generally have the same clearance as a standard pin box, so this will depend on the bed size of your truck and the end of the camper or trailer you are pulling.

It is recommended that these be used with a long bed truck, but that doesn't mean it will not work with a short bed, however. You will just need to be very aware of where the front of the camper or trailer is when making tighter turns.

If the front of the trailer or camper also has a tapered nose, this typically negates the possibility of there ever being an issue with contact. That being said, it is still a good idea to keep an eye on everything when making tight turns.
