Comparing Air Bags and RAS for 2018 Ford F-150 with Truck Bed Camper

Question:

I am looking to add either helper springs or air bags to my 2018 F150 with the 6.5 bed and haul tow package to help haul a truck camper. the camper weighs apox. 1,300lbs dry and 1,600lbs plus when wet/loaded. the truck has a higher end 3 inch leveling kit installed on it. Has a very good ride. I am looking at the Roadmaster RAS leaf spring assist kit or air bags. I dont want to adversely affect the ride comfort when not hauling. the Roadmaster RAS kit seems to fit my requirements bu not sure it will be enough for the truck camper your thoughts, suggestions appreciated.

The best option to retain factory unloaded ride quality is with air bags because you can easily let air out when you're done towing or hauling to get back to the factory ride quality. There are other systems on the market which can be adjusted but none will be as easy as air bags. The correct kit for a 2018 Ford F-150 is the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2582.

Please note, if the rear of the truck has been lifted you will need spacers. A leveling kit only lifts the front of the truck hence the term leveling as there is a factory rake on all pickups. If you have a rear lift kit please choose a spacer from the list below that matches the height of the lift.
