5th Wheel Installation Kit Recommendation for a 2005 Silverado 2500 HD and RBW X-16 Hitch

Question:

I own a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. I purchased an RBW X-16 fifth wheel hitch used from a friend of mine. It has a slider. I need to purchase rails and mounting brackets/ hardware to install the Hitch. My truck has a 6.5foot box. What rails would work for this install. My truck has a channel frame.

Your RBW X-16 fifth wheel hitch will work with the industry standard above-bed base rails. For your 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD with a 6-1/2 ft bed, I recommend installing the Reese Custom Install Kit, # RP50064-58. This kit includes custom frame brackets that do not require any drilling to install and the industry standard above-bed base rails.

We have installed this on a 2005 Silverado 3500 that is very similar to your 2500 HD so I attached the installation instructions as well as the installation video for you to check out. If you need replacement pins and clips to secure your hitch to the base rails, you can use part # 6014.
