Replacement Lights and Trailer Harness for SnowBear Trailer

Question:

Hi, I need to completely re-do the lights on my 2003 Snowbear 4.5×8foot trailer and I notice that beneath the trailer, there is a flat 4-wire connection similar to the one that connects to my tow vehicle that branches out from the middle of the trailer to both the left and right sides. I need a recommendation of a suitable replacement harness. I also would like to upgrade both tail and side-marker lamp assemblies to LED, if possible.

To replace the wiring harness on your Snowbear trailer you can use the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Wiring Harness - 20' Long # HM48240, which is a nice option since it gives you running light circuits running down both sides; this will make wiring everything in easier.

If you also want to replace the lights with LED lights, you will need to swap all lights on the trailer to avoid issues with combining LED and incandescent lights. To replace the tail lights I recommend using the LED Combination Trailer Tail Light - Submersible - 8 Function - 21 Diodes - Square - Driver Side # STL3RB and # STL2RB (passenger side), which will give you a nice LED tail light that also acts as a blinker, brake light, etc.. For the clearance light, the Optronics # MCL95AB is a nice replacement choice.

You'll also need some heat shrink butt connectors like the # DW05745-10 to complete your wiring connections. I've linked some helpful articles on wiring 4 way connections for trailers, as well as some review videos of these parts for you to have a look at.
