Installing Brake Controller in 2017 Ford F150 with 4-Way
Question:
Hello, I own a 2017 F150 Xlt V8 Without towing package. I have the 4 pin connector, and class 4 curt hutch/receiver. This question has probably been asked but what is all needed to make it so I can get a 7 pin installed for my camper trailer. I need a brake controller. Also is it possible to install an OEM controller? I know how to use Ford FORscan and enable trailer brake system. Thanks

We can help you with an aftermarket brake controller for your 2017 Ford F-150 with a 4-way which will cost less and perform better than an OEM controller but only Ford could help you install one of those.
To install a brake controller you'd need the part # 37185 to convert your 4-way to a 7-way which you can wire to the 7-way wiring that is present at the rear of the truck. So for a brake controller the Brake EVN part # TK63VR would work great as it's proportional, reliable, and also priced great. To install it in your truck you'd need the # 22292 which plugs in under the dash and connects it to the factory wiring.
