How is Ball Mount Rise/Drop Needed Calculated
Question:
Have a 2020 Sprinter 4x4 with a factory installed trailer hitch. Looking for the correct ball mount to use on the rig. The trailer has a 2- 5/16inch ball and manufacturer stated the top of the ball should be 18inch to 20inch in height. Can you recommend the best ball mount plus ball to use? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
I can help but I need more dimension from you. Can you get me the distance from the ground to the top of the hitch opening? If you can get me that and compare it to the 18 inch height you mentioned that would be how to determine the correct rise/drop.
I also attached a help article that covers how to pick out a ball mount rise/drop as well.
