Suspension Enhancement for 2009 Acura MDX Trailer Towing

Question:

I have a 2009 Acura MDX rated for 5000 lbs towing. My trailer is a TrailManor with a swing hitch. Im not sure about how an install works on a trailer with a swing hitch. The swing hitch hinge point is about 2 feet behind the ball. Makes it easy to store in my garage so I really like that aspect. Tongue weight with my 2010 TrailManor 2720 SL is probably about 400 lbs. I get 2.5inch of sag when I hook up the trailer.

I have a different solution for you as your 2009 Acura MDX does not recommend using a weight distribution hitch, according to the owners manual.

I recommend the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # THROD2. This will replace the stock bump stop on your MDX and will help to absorb road shock and increase stability when you are towing or not. This will also reduce the sag that you are experiencing as well.

To help protect against trailer sway I recommend the Tuson Electronic Sway Control System # 335TSC-1000. This will help to eliminate and prevent sway by using the brakes that are already on your trailer. Which means no obtrusive hitch parts that must be removed before you back up. Best of all you won't have to modify your trailer for any of these parts.
