Does 12 Volt Wire From Tow Vehicle Need to be Disconnected With Converter
Question:
When connecting the RV batteries to the converter, can the 12 volt auxiliary wire from the tow vehicle for charging while driving be connected to the RV batteries at the same time the wires from the charger/converter are connected? Or do you need a switch to change from one to the other source? I will be using an isolator on the tow vehicle.

It is possible to have the 7-way charge line connected along with a converter/battery charger on something like the Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger # PD4560K18LS8.
A converter/charger such as this will need to be plugged into shore power to charge the batteries, and you won't be using the 12 volt charge line unless you're towing, so there won't be any interference between the two.
If you do need a converter, I have added a link below to our entire selection for you to check out.
