Before I order the Thule TH613 Pulse Alpine roof cargo box, can you tell me if I need some kind of adapter to mount it on a pair of 3 inch wide Yakima aerodynamic crossbars?

You shouldn't need any adapters. The Thule # TH613 Pulse Alpine roof cargo box will mount to aero-style crossbars up to 3-5/16 wide and 1-1/2 inches tall.

Yakima's JetStream aero-style crossbars measure measure 3-1/8 x 1 and the CoreBar crossbars measure 2-3/4 x 1. From the photo you kindly provided, it looks like you have the CoreBars, so you'll be good to go.

For easy access to your vehicle roof, you might also be interested in the # RL100660 Rightline Door Step, that mounts to the striker in the door jamb, and would provide a stable stepping point that would make reaching your roof mounted accessories safe and easy.
