Recommended Draw-Tite Hitch for 2017 Honda CR-V That Works With Hands Free Liftgate

Question:

I only need a hitch for my bike rack so I am not towing anything. Is there a draw tite hitch with a 1 1/4inch receiver that will work with the foot activation sensor on the rear hatch? I know that the draw-tite class III hitch will not affect it, but I need a smaller receiver so I am hoping they make another model that would work. Or if not a draw-tite, any other recommendations. Thanks

Yes, the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36597 is a fit for a 2017 Honda CR-V and it has a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. That said, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76128 which has a 2" receiver tube opening will allow for more bike rack options to choose from. These options both allow the hands free liftgate feature to remain operational but you'll be limited to areas away from the receiver tube.
