Does Malone Runway HM4 Bike Rack Tilt Down Freely

Question:

Does the rack have lock points that help you when youre lowering it down to open the tailgate, or is it free so you have to lift it and get it in the correct position to the pin? Im wondering how easily one person could manage to lift the rack from the down position tilted to the ground with the tailgate open up to locked back in the normal position if bikes were on the rack. Thanks

The Malone Runway HM4 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # MAL82VR does not have a stopping or lock point; when you pull the spring pin it will in fact tilt down, and the pin will need to be re-inserted at the correct position when tilting it back up. So really the tilting feature would be best suited for two people when using the Malone Runway # MAL82VR.

This is a really nice option for a 4-bike rack though, and even comes with locking knobs on the arms to help protect your bikes. The HM4 comes with an anti-rattle hitch pin, though you can add security to the rack by adding a lock, the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock # MPG2174.
