Different Bolt Hole Sizes on Reese Pintle Mount, Part # RP45294, and Holland Pintle, Part # PH30RP41
Question:
I just received the Reese titan forged pintle mount and the bolt holes and nut reliefs are for 5/8 bolts. The Holland 15 ton pintle that I ordered, and all other 4 bolt pintles I have found, are drilled for 1/2inch bolts. Do you have any pintles that will work with this mount or have any other suggestions? I am not comfortable drilling the the pintle without checking with Holland to confirm it would be safe. Thanks.

You do not need to drill out the mounting holes on your Holland pintle Hook.
My contact at Reese advises that the bolt holes on the Titan Forged Pintle Hook Mounting Plate, part # RP45294, are intentionally over-sized for convenience but are intended for 1/2-inch hardware, not 5/8-inch.
1/2-inch grade 8 hardware is specified by the manufacturer for attaching the pintle hook and mount.
