Weight Distribution Hitch For 2018 Chevrolet Colorado Towing 2021 Forest River R-Pod 190
Question:
2018 chevy colorado towing a 2021 R-Pod 190. can you back up without disconnecting the bars and how tight a turn can you make?

With the Curt MV Weight Distribution Hitch # C17050 you can back up with the hitch and do normal driving turning. I would recommend removing the tow bars if you are backing up to an angle that is greater than that can be achieved when driving forward during steering lock turns.
This Curt hitch does not include any kind of sway control as it is only a weight distribution bar. If you were to add a Sway Control # 17200 that would have to be removed before any backing up. And I generally only recommend using those sway bars on mostly straight roads. I have seen them fail while driving on extremely windy roads as they have heated up the friction material and caused the bar to bend.
For your 2018 Chevrolet Colorado pulling the 2021 Forest River R-Pod 190, I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET. This hitch will do both weight distribution and sway control with less moving parts. You can also back up with it and not need to remove any parts, and drive down curvy roads without risking damage to the hitch. I do recommend also getting the Sway Bracket Jackets # EQ95-01-5150 to reduce the noise the hitch makes as well as extend the life of the hitch components.
