Weight Distribution Recommendation For Rockwood Roo 233S

Question:

I will be getting a Rockwood Roo 233s. Hitch weight of about 659-700 and about 5100 unloaded weight. Getting your recommendations between the 23317 or 23318???... my thought is go with the 23318 to be over spec? Thanks

We do have a really nice option for a weight distribution hitch that is perfect for your Rockwood Roo 233S, though the Husky system is no longer available. What you want for the most effective weight distribution hitch is a system where your loaded tongue weight is right in the middle of the system's tongue weight range.

Tongue weight will be in the 12 to 13 percent range of the trailer's GVWR, and for a Rockwood Roo 233S, which has a GVWR of 6,650 lbs, that means your loaded tongue weight will be in the 850 lb range. For that tongue weight, I highly recommend a system from Blue Ox, the TrackPro:

- Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control # BLU77FR

The TrackPro is designed for total tongue weights between 800 lbs - 1,000 lbs, which yours will be in the middle of, has excellent sway control at the hitch head and brackets, and is the easiest system to set up with brackets that just clamp on. It also comes with a 2-5/16" hitch ball so you don't have to purchase one separately, like you do with most systems.

So the overall best option for your Rockwood Roo 233S, due to its correct capacity, superior sway control, and overall ease of use relative to other hitches, is the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control # BLU77FR.

I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well if you'd like to take a look.
