Question:
The port that I’m supposed to plug the wiring harness into already has a plug in it, what is it for?

If your 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500 has something plugged into the port that the # 3016 normally would plug into that would indicate that you have the factory brake controller already on your truck. You can unplug that harness and plug in the # 3016 instead though to install a brake controller like the P3 part # 90195.
