Can a Sailboard and Kayak be Attached to a Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier?

Question:

I have 60inch Yakima round roof bars. I drive to Maine every summer from south Florida. I have a Yakima skybox on the roof and want to bring my Mistral Superlite sailboard and my Sea Kayak both are less than 30 pounds and narrow. Could they both be secured with a J-Bar system provided they are tied down front and rear?

The Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier Universal Mount # S512 will allow you to attach to your Yakima Round Crossbars # Y00408. They will need the additional Rhino-Rack Carrier Arms # RRS512X to fit a sailboard and a kayak.

I confirmed with Rhino-Rack that the tie-down straps that attach the kayak and sailboard horizontally to vehicle are 7 feet long, so you should be able to fit the width of both of them on top. They should be both tied down at the front and rear as well.
