Question:

What about the width of the cross bars ? Is there a difference in their size between Truck Bed Rack made of steel, Aliminum Pro Series and Aluminum Series?

The only real difference between the Adarac Aluminum Series and the Adarac Pro Series Aluminum is the upright bar design. The aluminum series has uprights that are slightly bent which could reduce ease of folding up a tonneau bed cover, while the Pro Series has straight uprights that do not reduce ease of folding up a tonneau cover. They both have the same weight capacity of 500lbs and have crossbars measuring 66" long and 1-1/2" wide.

You then have the Steel version which also has the 500lb weight capacity. These crossbars are angled in more than the setups mentioned above. These also do not have a T-slot track for accessories on top of the crossbars but it does have the track on the bottom of the crossbars. The Aluminum Series and Pro Series do have the bottom channel AND the top channel which will come in handy when mounting accessories to the crossbar. The steel bars will also be more prone to corrosion than the aluminum setups.

With all this being said, I think the best option is the Pro Series Aluminum due to the straight upright design and the fact that it has top channels for accessories. For your 2014 Ram 2500 you will want to go with Adarac Pro Series # A49FR if you have a 6-1/2' bed, or # A69FR for 8' bed.
