Will the Timbren 5k Axle Less Suspension Kit Bottom Out Under Full Load

Question:

Timberline customer service told me that this suspension arm fully loaded at 5000 pounds has 1 9/16 inch clearance between the center of the axle and the frame. With a 3 inch axle and the U bolts, that adds up to zero clearance between the top of the U-boats in the frame. Does that sound correct? Does this arm need to be spaced away from the frame to get the axle more clearance to move when hitting a bump?

I'm going to attach a dimensional drawing of the Timbren # TSR5KS02 for you to check out, and you won't want to install any type of spacer. I can see how what they're telling you might be confusing, but the suspension isn't going to be at full articulation at a full load of 5000-lbs. I do believe what they're saying is that under a full load the suspension will articulate to that point you've mentioned-which is going to put it close to the frame of the trailer- but not quite touching.

I've linked our installation video of this system, which also shows a road test, and you can tell that it will get close but not bottom out.
