Does Power Wire of Tekonsha Trailer Wiring for 2021 Mazda CX-5 Need to Run to Battery

Can I use the power outlet in the rear hatch area to power the trailer module instead of directly on the battery?

You really do need to run the power wire of the Tekonsha trailer wiring kit that fits your 2021 Mazda CX-5 # 118746 to the vehicle battery as this ensures that in the event of a short your vehicle wiring would not get damaged since it bypasses all of it and it also ensures that the harness is able to draw enough amperage since we don't the circuit rating of the power supply you referenced.
