5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2020 Ford F350 Short Bed
Question:
Can you recommend the ideal set up for my type of bed? I have gotten quite a range of answers. Anywhere from sliders to goosenecks. Obviously I’d like the full range of motion for turning and a smooth ride without the “chucking”. I have a 19k rating for standard 5th wheel but 21 for a gooseneck. I’d really appreciate it. Thank you. Truck is a 2020 f350 gasser

From you description, you're wanting an easy to use hitch that provides a good level of ride quality that won't transfer all the road shock from the 5th wheel to the tow vehicle.
I'd recommend the Demco Hijacker Autoslide, which is available in an 18K capacity model as part
# DM8550022 or a 21K model as part # DM8550037. These hitches are compatible with the Demco
# DM8551009 under-bed rail system that will leave your bed completely unobstructed once the hitch is removed.
The hitch head will automatically begin sliding rearward during turns, and after the turn is completed, the hitch head will return to its towing position. You'll never need to exit the truck to unlatch a slider again, which is super-convenient.
The hitch uses a one piece wraparound jaw which provides 360º jaw to king pin contact and cushioning polyurethane bumpers which isolate the tow vehicle from road shock experienced by the 5th wheel for excellent ride quality.
If you'd like to install a 7-way trailer connector in the truck bed so you don't need to run the trailer connector cable up over the tailgate, you can do so using part # 41157.
I've linked to a demonstration video for the hitch I recommended, as well as to an install video for the trailer connector/harness mentioned above.
