Recommended 7-way Connector For 1989 Ford F-250 Custom
Question:
Hello, I have a 89 Ford F250 Custom. It has a 4 flat on it now. I need to add a 7 blade round female to it. Is there anything plug and play or will I have to do some wiring? What do you recommend? Thank you

It really comes down to what you are needing the 7-way connector for.
If you are just needing it for the lighting functions you can use the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185 which will plug into the 4-way connector on your 1989 Ford F-250 Custom and give you the lighting functions.
If you are needing the 12v power functions, or the brake output function you will need the # ETBC7 instead which will still plug into the 4-way connector but will require the following connections:
Black wire to battery of vehicle with included 40 amp circuit breaker
White wire grounded to frame of vehicle
Blue wire to dash of vehicle to hook to trailer brake controller.
If you are needing a trailer brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it is an extremely reliable controller that has great features like an easy to read LCD screen, and built in diagnostics that are easy to read and understand.
I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
