Mounting Bolt Size for Draw-Tite 76170 Class III Hitch for 2019 Honda Odyssey

Question:

I may be ordering, or having my son-in-law order one of your 2inch receiver trailer hitches for their 2019 Honda Odyssey. Since they dont live near me, I will be carrying my install tools with me. Can you tell me the bolt diameter and thread spec for the 4 19mm head bolts that secure the hitch to the body weld nuts. I would like to have with me the correct thread chaser to clean out the body weld nuts prior to installing the hitch. Have you improved your hitch packaging for shipment? I know that there have been some issues in the past, and I personally experienced this when I ordered a hitch for our 2018 Equinox, coming to MI. Just would like to get an assembly that does not have paint chipped off. Bolt specs are my real question. Thanks

The Draw-Tite Class III hitch, part # 76170 installs using 6 M12 1.25 x 35 bolts, so you'd need an M12x1.25 tap. Before trying to chase the threads, you'll likely have success just giving the threads a good scrub with a spray lubricant like WD-40 and a battery terminal brush like # DW00254, as the vehicle isn't very old at this point and likely won't have a ton of road crud and corrosion built up in the threads.

We go to great lengths to ensure our products arrive to you in good condition, we work very hard to ensure that your items are correctly packaged and are properly handled after leaving our facility.

If your daughter and her husband will be using the hitch for towing, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness, a ball mount and a trailer ball. For wiring, use # 118781, # 2753 for a ball mount and # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball.

Mike you have a typo, I think you intended to type a M12x1.25 tap ('fine' thread)
