How To Install Draw-Tite Hitch On 2016 Mazda CX-5
Question:
I’m looking at possibly the Draw Tite for our 2016 CX5. have a few questions about installing a hitch. - When installing a hitch, should the base be parallel to ground to the extent that I should use a spirit level to measure and tighten the nuts? Or, do I not need to worry about this aspect? - When choosing a drawbar and ball, is that based on the trailer tongue Im towing? - Is the torque specification absolutely necessary or can I just tighten? I do not own a torque wrench.

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76138 is a great option for a 2016 Mazda CX-5. In regards to install, you don't need to worry about angles or measurements, it uses preexisting holes in the frame so the hard work is done for you. The hardware does need to be torqued to spec but you can either buy a torque wrench from us part # PTW3001C or rent one from your local auto parts store which is usually free. I have attached a video below which will walk you through the process.
I have also attached for you below a help article that will go over how to select the correct ball mount. We do offer a general kit as well that works for most setups, etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # 989900.
