Recommended 10 Hub and Braking Assemblies For 16 2004 Scamp Trailer W/ 3500lb Torsion Axle

Hi! I have a 2004 16ft Scamp Trailer. It has a 3500lb torsion axle, 5 by 4.5 bolt pattern, torsion arm angle of 32 deg and 10 electric brakes 4 bolts. The tires/wheels are 175/80 r 13. I am looking at your 10 electric brakes and they all say that they are for 14 or 15 tires. Your hubs/drums say they work for 13 tires. I like the Trailer Hub and Drum AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. Can you suggest 10 electric brakes, hub, drum, and bearings that would fit my axle? Thank you!

Since the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K works with wheels ranging from 13" - 15", and you currently have 10" brakes you will not have a problem using them with 10" braking assemblies and your 13" wheels.

The # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K uses the common # L68149 and # L44649 bearing combination which is found on most 3500lb axles but you can confirm that this is compatible with the 3500lb torsion axle on your 16' 2004 Scamp Trailer by removing one of your current hubs and looking for the bearing number stamped in the face of each bearing as shown in the included picture of the # L44649.

As long as your bearing combination is # L68149 and # L44649 the # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K will fit perfectly.

For compatible braking assemblies I recommend # AKEBRK-35-SA which are self-adjusting so you will not need to worry about adjusting them periodically like traditional brakes. I also recommend heat shrink butt connectors # DW05745-5 for a weather tight connection.
