Recommended Battery Isolator For Truck Towing RV That Is Always Drawing Power
Question:
I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel. The battery terminal in the RV plug is always hot, so with the engine off it can drain down the vehicle battery when hooked up to the trailer. What battery isolation options are there? Either plug and play on the vehicle side or something mounted on the trailer.

Expert Reply:
I recommend installing the Battery Isolation Solenoid # PK5231201 in your RV with which will install in-between the power wire coming from the battery of your 2006 Ram 2500 Diesel, and will only allow the RV battery to pull power from the vehicle battery when the vehicle is running.
