We have 2 available options that would provide a roof rack on your 1998 Saab 900.

The SeaSucker roof rack, part # 298-SX6000B attaches to the roof using 6 vacuum cups that are similar to suction cups. I know what you might be thinking, Suction Cups, really? These aren't the suction cups like what you've seen before. Each of the six cups has a pull strength of 210 lbs per vacuum cup, for a total of 1260 lbs. In other works, it'd take 1260 lbs of evenly distributed force to pull those cups off the vehicle. Unlike other options, these won't possibly scratch or dent your roof. This is the option I'd recommend.

Another option would be the SportRack semi custom roof rack, part # SR1005 which would mount to the roof using the top of the door jambs. Because this is a 'semi-custom' fit, they can be kind of fussy and aren't what I'd call super-quick to install or remove from the vehicle.

The Thule # TH7324B SnowPack ski/board rack you'd looked at would work well with either option discussed above.
