Sway Control Device that Can be Used with Tesla Model Y

Question:

Hello, we’ve been towing with a popup camper with our Tesla Model Y and had recently upgraded to an Rpod. I saw in an older post regarding a model x on the weight distribution. I am wondering if it’s still the same answer as it seems that Tesla doesn’t recommend a weight distribution but the respond had recommended a sway controller? Any added recommendations? We have noticed a bit of weight is on the back of the wheel but that was even with the popup trailer. We have a raised hitched and wondering if there are better options. Thanks!

We don't have any hitches that fit the Model Y from Tesla so we don't have any direct info on whether it can be used with a weight distribution system or not. Judging by what I was able to find on the Model Y I would not anticipate that is approved for WD use.

A sway control device like part # LC380605 would do a great job preventing sway that has already started but better loading in the trailer would give you the best ride quality since that is the main cause of trailer sway. This means moving as much cargo weight forward in the trailer as possible.

I noticed you mentioned raising the trailer nose but ideally the trailer is sitting as level as possible. If you start to go nose high you'll get worse sway.
