Front Mounted Receiver Hitch Recommended for 2020 Ram 3500 Truck

Question:

Hi, I am trying to find the right front hitch that would be safe to put a 170lb dirtbike on. I have a 2020 Ram 3500 srw and towing a 13,000lb fifth wheel. I would also be putting a 200lb dirtbike on the fifth wheel hitch and want to make sure everything would stay secure and safe while doing so. Thank you in advance and if you could point me to the proper hitch I would appreciate it. Thank you,

We do offer a front mounted receiver for your 2020 Ram 3500, part # DT36MR (does not work with diesel models). The hitch as a vertical pull limit of 500 lbs, which means that as long as the dirt bike and its carrier doesn't weigh more than 500 lbs, it'll work just fine for you. If you don't yet have a carrier, I'd recommend the Ultra-Fab # UF48-979033 which can handle bikes weighing up to 500 lbs with tires up to 5 inches wide. Ratchet straps like # EM31353 would work well to secure the bike to the carrier.

If the hitch on the 5th wheel has enough tongue weight capacity to handle the 200 lb bike and the weight of the carrier, you might be okay but I'd recommend checking with the manufacturer of your 5th wheel to ensure that the rear structure has the necessary strength to handle this sort of load. I'd recommend putting the lighter of the two bikes on the 5th wheel.

I've linked to the parts I mentioned, as well as to a demonstration video for the motorcycle carrier I recommended.
