Recommended Weight Distribution For 2020 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup BHS Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 2017 Ford 150, Crew cab with a 5.5 bed. 2 receiver hitch. 2020 Forest River Cherokee Wolfpup BHS. Tongue weight on the RV is 377#, cargo weight on truck 300#-500#. Can you recommend a weight distribution hitch? The RV can accept a 2 ball. Most WD hitches come w/ 2- 5/16 ball, can that be downsized. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

We can get you set up with a weight distribution hitch for your 2020 Forest River Cherokee Wolf Pup BHS travel trailer, which according to my research has a GVWR of just under 3,900 lbs. With that in mind, the best option is going to be from Reese:
- Strait-Line Weight Distribution System With Sway Control # RP66083
The Strait-Line is for total tongue weights between 400 lbs and 800 lbs - which your Forest River Cherokee will be when loaded - and provides not only a level ride, but also the best sway control you can get. The reason for that is its completely unique dual-cam set up that stops sway before it begins, unlike other weight distribution hitches that react after some sway has started.
There isn't a better option for a weight distribution hitch than the Strait-Line, and it is even compatible with a 2" hitch ball, with the correct one being the Curt 2" Hitch Ball # A-90.
