Correct EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2018 BMW X5
Question:
Hi, between Item # EH44FR and 306-X7265 does it matter which one I use for 2018 BMW X5 that does not have backup sensors? And are there any functional or fit differences other than compatibility with backup sensors? Regards

It does matter which EcoHitch trailer hitch receiver you get for your 2018 BMW X5, as there are fit differences, like you mentioned, as the hitches are designed slightly differently. The # EH44FR is a fit for X5's that have back-up sensors, so the correct fit for your 2018 BMW X5 that does not have back-up sensors is the following:
- EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7265
They otherwise do have the same 5,000 lb towing and 750 lb tongue weight capacities, and the 2 inch receiver can be removed when not in use so it looks like you have no hitch installed at all.
Additionally, if you were looking to do some towing and needed to add a 4-way wiring harness, the correct part is the Curt Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56190KIT.
