Trailer Wiring Harness that will work for 2016 GMC Savana Van with 6-way connector
Question:
Hi guys, I own a 2015 GMC Savana and would like to purchase a trailer connector but I’m confused with the harness that I have underneath the van. It has a 6 way harness and I can’t find anything that fit there. Hope you guys can help me find the solution.

If you have a 6-way on your vehicle, there are two routes you can go. You can add a 6-way plug to your trailer or you can switch out the 6-way to a 4-way or 7-way. I would recommend switching out the 6-way on your vehicle to a 4 and 7-way combo such as # HM40975-11998, so that you have the option to haul trailers with different wiring set ups without having to carry an adapter. I say this because 6-way plugs are not very common.
If it is a US car connector that you have installed that came from the factory then you will just need the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975. This will allow you to plug the US car connector directly into it, giving you both 7 and 4-way.
