Troubleshooting Fastway Solid-Tow Adjustable Ball Mount That Still Has Movement Once Installed

Question:

Hello, I bought a Solid-Tow Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w Chrome Balls - 2 Hitch - 4 , 5 Rise Even tightening the shank screw there still is some give so I hope I didn’t mismeasure and bough the wrong unit. Also something on top of the shank popped up, which wasn’t covered in the video so I’m curious what that is.

The Solid-Tow Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w Chrome Balls - 2" Hitch - 4" Drop, 5" Rise # DTSTBM6400 you purchased is designed for a 2" trailer hitch receiver which is more than likely what you have on your 2017 Honda Pilot so I do not think you purchased the wrong model.

To make sure that the # DTSTBM6400 is secure to the trailer hitch receiver you will want to tighten the top Allen screw until there ball mount is secure. There should not be any that pops up or makes any noise when installing.

I recommend removing the ball mount and starting over the install following the included video.

If the issues you are having are still there after re-installing, just email me a picture of the hitch installed and I would be happy to go over more in-depth troubleshooting steps.
