Can 205/65-10 Tires and Golf Cart Wheels Be Used on Pop-Up Camper

Question:

Hello, I have a 1997 Jayco 1207 pop up camper running 20.5 x 8-10 tires .... on 4 on 4 steel rims. The steel rims are plain and Id like something a bit more stylish. Can I run aluminum golf cart rims in it in place of the plain steel rims?

According to my research, the 1997 Jayco 1207 pop up camper has a 1765 lb dry weight. The answer to your question will depend on the weight capacity of the wheels you choose.

The modern equivalent to the 20.5 x 8-10 tire is 205/65-10, like the # AM1HP52 tire you'd looked at. The tire has a 1100 lb per tire/2200 lb per axle load capacity, so as long as the wheels you choose have a capacity that meets or exceeds the fully loaded weight of your pop up camper, you'll be just fine. The vendor you purchase the wheels from should be able to tell you their load capacity.

I've linked to several articles about trailer wheels and tires which I hope you'll find helpful.
