Is the Replacement Bike Clamp Assembly for Thule Raceway Bike Racks Threaded

Question:

I am looking to fabricate a frame clamping carrier for some e-bikes. I have t-slot side rails in the bed of my truck and anticipate making an assembly that will include a cross-tube between the rails and some set of fabricated/off-the-shelf components that can clamp onto the downtube of the frame behind the front wheel and attach to the cross tube mounted in the truck bed. It would appear that the Thule 7521537001 part might be adaptable for this. I see that it is normally attached to a cross bar with a clamp at the other end. That complete assembly is similar to what I have in mind. I am assuming the clamp assembly does not include the cross bar and clamp. If that is correct, can you tell how the clamp assembly connects to the cross bar. I am assuming it is a threaded connection. Thanks

You are correct that the Replacement Bike Clamp Assembly for Thule Raceway Bike Racks, part # 7521537001, is a threaded assembly and that it does not include the arm. It is designed specifically for the Thule Raceway bike racks.

I cannot comment on how well it would work with your application as these clamps were only designed to keep the bikes stable, not hold them up/support their weight as you can see in the video below.
