Recommended Under-Bed 5th Wheel Rail Kit For 2018 Ford F-250 Without OEM Prep Package
Question:
I have a 2018 f250 lariat short bed, wanted to add a under bed mount 5th wheel hitch system. I don’t want the rails in the bed as I use my truck for work, I unfortunately wasn’t able to find a truck with the factory system already installed. What would you recommend? Thanks for your time!

For your 2018 Ford F-250 Lariat Short Bed I recommend the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP87FR which is the same system used in the OEM prep package meaning you can use it for a gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch. This option will not take up any space in the bed with the 5th wheel hitch removed, and will allow you to use any 5th wheel hitch that is made for the Ford OEM Prep Package.
If you do not already have a 5th wheel hitch I recommend B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3370 as it is a top of the line hitch that uses 1" thick dual jaws for superior king pin contact. Slider hitches are recommended for trucks with shorter than an 8' bed to give you increased cab to trailer clearance when making sharp turns.
If your trailer has a rotating pin box I recommend the I recommend the # BWRVK3300 and Wedge # SWW-06 instead.
I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
