Parts Needed to Install Trailer Brake Controller on 1997 Chevy C/K Truck w/4-Way and 7-Way Adapter
Question:
Any hope for a plug-in adapter for my 1997 Silverado Z-72? I have the 7-connector adapted to the 4-pin connector. Thank you!

For a 1997 Chevy C/K Series truck you will have to hardwire in a brake controller since that year did not come with the wiring or a port to plug in a controller. Since you already have a 4-Way and the adapter you will only need a few more things.
You will need a brake controller installation kit like # 5506 (if it has 6 to 8 brakes). You will also need a 40 amp circuit breaker # PK54540 (for the 12 volt power to the 7-Way. If not needed you can tape up this wire and the circuit breaker will not be needed).
Then you will need the brake controller itself. I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885. It is one of the best selling and most popular controller of all time because it is easy to set up, easy to use, and works well.
I have included some links that will help you perform this installation.
